Starting a business is a way out of being unemployed. If you think that you have failed miserably in life, let the past be a lesson of what not to do and move on. You simply cannot change it. Regretting what you might have done, or might not have done, will not change anything. Your past is over and you are facing the here and now. Make the most of it before it is gone.
Find the people whom you need to get a new start in your life. If you just graduated from a university and simply cannot find work in your chosen field, think about what you would like to do and start taking steps in that direction. If you have been made dispensable, and you feel that you would not like to go back to corporate life, think about the vast pool of knowledge and skills you have gained and how you could best use it in a different way. Sometimes the first option of what you want to do is not immediately available, so choose the second best. If you are in a situation where you are doing something you do not like but do not know what else you could do, then do your work better. If you are completely clueless of what to do with your life, start doing something. It is better than nothing.
Sometimes starting a business is a way out of your current environment and the people you are used to deal with. It is simply a fresh new start. It is an opportunity to live your life in a totally different way than you perhaps have been imaging. It is also serving the other people and making the most out of your skills and natural talent. Starting a business involves a risk of not succeeding, but according to ageless wisdom, you are much more likely to make it than fail. Just believe in yourself.

Whatever it is that you feel very passionate about is a good stepping stone to start a business. If you follow your passion, it is said that you will never have to work a day in your life, because you love what you do and do what you love. According to author Wayne Dyer, “There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love. There is only a scarcity of resolve to make it happen.”
American motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said that it is character that gets us out of bed, commitment that moves us into action, and discipline that enables us to follow through. If you are not committed to your passion and your goals, you only give yourself promises and hopes. You need a committed plan. Abraham Lincoln once said “Commitment is what transforms a promise into a reality.”
Having passion, however, does not mean that you do not have to understand the needs of your potential clients. You have to do research to test how the market would react to your product or service. You also have to analyze your competition. Feeling passionate does not mean that your business idea will succeed. However, it is clear without a shadow of a doubt, that not feeling passionate about starting a business is a recipe for disaster. Your clients would rightly ask why should they do any business with you if you, in their opinion, did not sound or feel enthusiastic. They would either think that there is something wrong with the product or service, or simply refuse to buy from a person whom they did not like or trust.
Your passion would provide you the mental and physical stamina to start and run your business. But passion itself is not enough to make you a successful businessperson
You may be passionate about reading and buying books but that does not mean that you will be a good publisher or a book seller. It does give you an idea how to focus your passion in order to make it right for you. You can write book reviews of the books you have read. You can help other people to find books they are looking for. You can run a literacy class or even a literature workshop. There are so many ways your passion can guide you to help you find your niche in the business world.
